Spacers:
Sore Teeth:
Wire Irritation:
If you lose a spacer, follow the instructions we
have provided for you. If unable to replace
yourself call our office. We need to hold the
space we have created until your next
appointment in order to place your bands in the
most comfortable manner for you.
If your teeth are sore following your visit you
may take Tylenol. A warm wash cloth, heating
pad or warm salt water rinses may reduce the
discomfort as well. Eat soft foods at meals until
discomfort subsides. If discomfort worsens after
4 days call our office.
You may use an eraser to push the wire away
from lips or cheeks. If the irritation still persist
place wax on the bracket until you can schedule
an appointment with our office.
Loose
Bracket/Bands:
Broken
Retainer:
If a bracket or band comes off and is still
attached to the archwire, leave it in place. If it
comes out, bring it with you to your next
appointment. Do not attach headgear or elastics
to loose appliances. Call us as soon as you notice
something is broken!
Call our office as soon as possible to have the
retainer repaired or replaced. Teeth will move if
not retained properly.
